ATLANTA, GA — Jackie Young turned in one of the finest performances of her career Monday night, recording a triple-double to lead the Las Vegas Aces to a commanding 109-87 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Young finished with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, posting the third triple-double of her WNBA career as Las Vegas improved to 21-9 on the season.
The veteran guard completed the milestone with 2:21 remaining in the fourth quarter when she found Brianna Turner for a basket that gave the Aces a 101-81 advantage. The assist capped a dominant all-around effort that showcased Young’s scoring ability, rebounding, and playmaking.
A’ja Wilson continued her outstanding season with 23 points while also reaching another career milestone. Wilson recorded the 587th blocked shot of her career, moving past WNBA legend Lauren Jackson into sixth place on the league’s all-time blocks list.
NaLyssa Smith added 18 points for Las Vegas, while Chelsea Gray contributed 17 points and six assists as the Aces controlled the game from start to finish. Las Vegas led by as many as 28 points and never allowed Atlanta to mount a serious comeback.
The Dream (18-11) were led by Angel Reese, who continued her historic rookie campaign with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Reese recorded her 20th double-double of the season and her fifth 20-point, double-double in the last six games, further establishing herself as one of the league’s premier rebounders.
Rhyne Howard added 19 points for Atlanta, but the Dream struggled to find consistency from beyond the arc. Atlanta connected on just 4 of 25 three-point attempts, while Young knocked down four of her seven shots from long range to help fuel the Aces’ offensive attack.
Las Vegas built an early lead behind its balanced offense and defensive pressure before pulling away in the second half. The Aces consistently converted in transition, shared the basketball effectively, and capitalized on Atlanta’s shooting struggles to secure the convincing victory.
The loss snapped Atlanta’s five-game winning streak, while the Aces continued to strengthen their position among the WNBA’s top teams as the regular season enters its final stretch.
Las Vegas returns to action Thursday with a road matchup against the Indiana Fever. The Dream will look to bounce back Wednesday night when they host the Phoenix Mercury.
