ATLANTA, GA — Rhyne Howard continued to rewrite the WNBA record book Monday night, while Angel Reese delivered another dominant performance on the glass as the Atlanta Dream defeated the Toronto Tempo 107-95.
Howard knocked down six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 100 made 3-pointers in a single season. She accomplished the feat in just 31 games, surpassing the previous record of 33 games held jointly by Howard and legendary shooter Diana Taurasi.
Reese added 20 points and 14 rebounds, recording her 22nd double-double of the season. The performance also established a new Atlanta franchise record for double-doubles in a single season.
The second-year star is now just six double-doubles away from matching Alyssa Thomas’ WNBA single-season record of 28, set in 2023.
Jordin Canada matched Reese’s scoring total with 20 points and came close to a double-double of her own, finishing with nine assists. Allisha Gray and Brionna Jones each contributed 15 points as Atlanta improved to 20-12.
The Dream took control in the second quarter, turning a competitive game into a comfortable halftime advantage. Atlanta outscored Toronto 30-17 during the period and carried a 54-39 lead into the locker room.
That advantage proved crucial. Atlanta improved to 14-2 this season when leading at halftime.
Toronto had plenty of offensive firepower of its own, led by Marina Mabrey, who erupted for 36 points and buried seven 3-pointers.
Mabrey has now produced seven or more 3-pointers in a game three times this season, keeping the Tempo within striking distance throughout the contest.
Kiki Rice provided 18 points off the bench for Toronto, while Nyara Sabally posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite Toronto’s offensive push, Atlanta continued to answer with balanced scoring and timely shooting. Howard’s perimeter attack, Reese’s inside presence and Canada’s playmaking gave the Dream enough firepower to maintain control and secure their second consecutive victory.
For Atlanta, the win was another statement from a team gaining momentum as the season progresses. Howard’s historic shooting pace and Reese’s remarkable rebounding production have given the Dream two major storylines to follow, while the contributions from Canada, Gray and Jones continue to make Atlanta difficult to defend.
