Washington, DC — The Chicago Bulls snapped a seven-game losing streak in emphatic fashion Tuesday night, rolling past the Washington Wizards 129–98 in the first game of a back-to-back set in the nation’s capital.
Rookie guard Rob Dillingham delivered a breakout performance, pouring in a career-high 26 points to lead a dominant effort from start to finish. Chicago seized control early, jumping out to a 38–18 lead after the first quarter and never looking back.
By halftime, the Bulls had stretched the margin to nearly 30 points, and the gap only widened as the game progressed. Chicago led 100–63 entering the fourth quarter against a Washington team that struggled to generate defensive resistance.
Patrick Williams contributed a season-best 20 points, while Tre Jones added 20 points and nine assists, helping orchestrate one of the team’s most complete performances in weeks. The two teams will meet again Thursday night.
The win came amid significant organizational change for Chicago. Just one day earlier, the franchise parted ways with top executives Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley. Despite the upheaval, CEO Michael Reinsdorf indicated that head coach Billy Donovan is expected to remain with the team moving forward.
Washington, meanwhile, continues to endure a difficult stretch. Bilal Coulibaly led the Wizards with 19 points, but the team dropped its seventh straight game and has now lost 23 of its last 24.
With injuries thinning the roster, Washington relied heavily on a mix of young and depth players, including two-way contributors Juju Reese and Leaky Black, along with veteran Anthony Gill, who has recently taken on a larger role.
For Chicago, the victory provided a much-needed reset after weeks of struggles, while the Wizards remain focused on development as the season winds down.
