San Antonio, TX — Wichita State delivered a commanding road performance Sunday night, rolling past UTSA 84-67 behind a big outing from Kenyon Giles.

Giles poured in 28 points, knocking down six shots from beyond the arc, as the Shockers improved to 20-10 overall and 12-5 in American Athletic Conference play. Despite needing 27 attempts to reach his total, Giles’ perimeter shooting helped stretch the defense and create separation throughout the game.

Dillon Battie provided a steady presence with 13 points and six rebounds, while Will Berg added 10 points to round out Wichita State’s balanced attack.

UTSA (5-24, 1-16 AAC) dropped its fourth consecutive game despite strong individual efforts. Jamir Simpson and Baboucarr Njie each recorded 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the Roadrunners, and Daniel Akitoby contributed a double-double with 16 points, 13 boards and two blocks.

The Shockers seized control early. After grabbing the lead just over four minutes into the opening half, Wichita State never surrendered it. Battie sparked the first-half surge with 12 points, helping the Shockers carry a 41-29 advantage into intermission.

Any hopes of a Roadrunners comeback faded in the second half when Wichita State strung together a decisive 12-0 run, turning a comfortable margin into a commanding one. From there, the Shockers maintained control down the stretch, closing out the 17-point victory with poise.

With the regular season winding down, Wichita State continues to build momentum in conference play, while UTSA looks to regroup as it searches for its second league win.
