Atlanta, GA — Jalen Johnson delivered a dominant performance with 26 points and 12 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks stormed back from a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 115-104 on Sunday night. The loss marked Brooklyn’s fourth straight.
Making his first start since arriving in a trade that sent Trae Young to the Washington Wizards, CJ McCollum contributed 16 points and eight boards. Jock Landale provided a spark off the bench, scoring 17 points in just 16 minutes and hitting all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Onyeka Okongwu added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks, punctuating his night with a powerful dunk over Nic Claxton in the third quarter.
For Brooklyn, Michael Porter Jr. paced the offense with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Claxton, returning after a three-game absence due to ankle and hip injuries, chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
Atlanta entered the night having dropped three of its previous four home games and appeared headed for another setback when it fell behind 102-91 with just over eight minutes remaining. Instead, the Hawks erupted on a decisive 24-2 surge to close the contest. During that stretch, Brooklyn misfired on 11 of its final 12 shots and went 0-for-10 from 3-point range. Johnson fueled the comeback with 12 points in the closing run.
Rookie forward Zaccharie Risacher, the top overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, came off the bench for only the second time in his young career and finished with seven points.
