Newark, N.J. — Seton Hall leaned on its defense and a dominant second-half performance from Najai Hines to grind out a 51–47 victory over Georgetown on Saturday night.

Hines provided a major lift off the bench, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots to power the Pirates (19–9, 9–8 Big East). All of his scoring came after halftime, helping Seton Hall erase a seven-point deficit. Josh Rivera added eight points and six boards in the low-scoring conference battle.

Georgetown (13–14, 5–11 Big East) was led by KJ Lewis with 10 points. Julius Halaifonua contributed nine points and seven rebounds, while Malik Mack chipped in nine points and three steals.

The Hoyas carried a 27–20 advantage into the locker room after limiting Seton Hall’s offense in the opening half. But the Pirates tightened up defensively after the break and found timely scoring, with Hines anchoring the turnaround on both ends of the floor.

Seton Hall’s interior presence and late-game stops ultimately secured the comeback win, keeping the Pirates in the thick of the Big East race.
