Philadelphia, PA — The Dell Music Center officially launched its highly anticipated 2026 Summer Concert Series on Thursday night, treating a packed house to an unforgettable celebration of Philadelphia’s rich musical heritage. Hosted by WDAS-FM personalities Lady B and Patti Jackson, the evening featured legendary artists, hometown favorites, and timeless performances that had fans singing, dancing, and celebrating throughout the wet night.

Opening the show was Philadelphia’s own Pieces of a Dream, whose smooth blend of contemporary jazz, R&B, and funk immediately energized the crowd. The legendary group performed several of the fan favorites that have defined their decades-long career, including “Warm Weather,” “Mount Airy Groove,” “Fo-Fi-Fo,” and “Pieces.” Their tight musicianship and signature Philadelphia sound set the perfect tone for an evening dedicated to some of the city’s finest musical talent.

Keeping the hometown spirit alive, acclaimed Philadelphia trombonist Jeff Bradshaw followed with an electrifying set that showcased not only his incredible musicianship but also his ability to breathe new life into R&B classics. Bradshaw had the audience singing along as he performed instrumental renditions of Tyrese’s “How You Gonna Act Like That,” Maxwell’s “Sumthin’ Sumthin’,” Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk,” and Usher’s “U Remind Me.” His performance was a reminder of why he remains one of the premier trombonists in contemporary music, seamlessly blending jazz, soul, funk, and R&B into a captivating live experience.

She then transformed the atmosphere with an uplifting gospel segment, delivering a spirited rendition of “The Lord Is Blessing Me Right Now,” turning the Dell Music Center into a joyful celebration of faith and gratitude.

Closing the evening was Philadelphia’s own legendary “Godmother of Soul,” Patti LaBelle, whose commanding stage presence and remarkable vocals reminded everyone why she remains one of the greatest entertainers in music history.
