East Rutherford, NJ——The New York Giants have reportedly traded defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Previously holding seven selections, the Giants now head into Thursday night’s first round with eight total picks.

This move would mark the second straight year the team holds multiple first-round selections. In 2025, the Giants selected edge rusher Abdul Carter with the third overall pick before trading back into the first round to take quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 25.

It would also be the third instance of multiple first-round picks during general manager Joe Schoen’s tenure. In 2022, the team drafted edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux fifth overall and offensive lineman Evan Neal seventh.

Updated Giants 2026 Draft Picks:

  • Round 1 – No. 5
  • Round 1 – No. 10 (from Cincinnati)
  • Round 2 – No. 37
  • Round 4 – No. 105
  • Round 5 – No. 145
  • Round 6 – No. 186
  • Round 6 – No. 192 (from Miami)

Originally selected 17th overall in 2019, Lawrence became one of the Giants’ most productive defenders. The former Clemson Tigers football standout earned Pro Bowl honors in three straight seasons (2022–2024) and was named second-team All-Pro in both 2022 and 2023.

Over seven seasons in New York, Lawrence appeared in 109 regular-season games with 102 starts. His career totals include 341 tackles, 103 quarterback hits, 40 tackles for loss, 30.5 sacks, 15 passes defended, five forced fumbles, and one interception. He also started both postseason games he played with the team.

Lawrence led the Giants in sacks in multiple seasons, recording 9.0 in 2024 and 7.5 in 2022. His 103 quarterback hits rank third in franchise history since the stat became official in 2006, behind Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul.
