Bronx, NY—-Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present INDIA with special guest LUIS FIGUEROA on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at 8PM. La Princesa de la Salsa returns to the Bronx for her annual Mother’s Day performance, this powerhouse evening of unforgettable hits will include “Vivir Lo Nuestro,” “Ese Hombre,” and “Costumbres.”

INDIA is celebrated for her chart-topping albums, Dicen Que Soy, Sobre el Fuego, and Intensamente La India Con Canciones De Juan Gabriel, which won a Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album in 2016. Joined by special guest LUIS FIGUEROA, four-time GRAMMY-nominated Latin artist, this one-night-only concert brings an electrifying evening of Latin music and celebration.

INDIA, born Linda Viera Caballero in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, moved to the South Bronx shortly after her birth, where her grandmother gave her the nickname that would become her stage name. She began her music career as a teenager in the dance music group TKA and later recorded early hits like “Dancing on the Fire” and “Love and Happiness” under producers Jellybean Benítez and “Little” Louie Vega, both of which reached the Billboard dance charts in the late 1980s.

In 1992, INDIA made a pivotal shift to salsa, collaborating with Eddie Palmieri on the album Llegó La India via Eddie Palmieri, which marked her breakthrough in the genre. Two years later, she released Dicen Que Soy (1994), a quadruple platinum album that featured the beloved duet “Vivir Lo Nuestro” with Marc Anthony.

Across a career spanning more than three decades, La India has achieved extraordinary commercial and critical success, including a Latin GRAMMY Award, ten Latin Billboard Music Awards, and two Guinness World Records for her dominance on the Billboard Tropical charts. In 2024, she reunited with longtime producer Sergio George for “Fuera Fuera”, a collaboration with Cuban artist Jacob Forever.

In 2025, India won the Premio a la Trayectoria at Premio Lo Nuestro. La India is currently in the studio with Víctor Manuelle, crafting a new album that promises to push the boundaries of salsa yet again.

LUIS FIGUEROA, four-time GRAMMY-nominated Puerto Rican American singer-songwriter and one of the leading voices driving the modern resurgence of salsa music. A Berklee College of Music graduate, he rose from viral success to global stages, collaborating with icons such as Romeo Santos and Marc Anthony, and contributing to major hits like “Por Perro.” Luis scored his first #1 hit on Billboard with his single “Hasta El Sol De Hoy” in July 2021. His work has earned Latin GRAMMY and Premio Lo Nuestro nominations, as well as recognition from Billboard as a top Latin artist.

Continuously evolving the genre, Figueroa blends traditional tropical sounds with contemporary influences, solidifying his place as a defining artist of the new generation of Latin music.
