New Orleans, LA — Tulsa delivered a stunning performance Saturday afternoon, overwhelming Tulane 60-10 and spoiling the Green Wave’s homecoming celebration with a dominant offensive display.

Quarterback Baylor Hayes had a career afternoon, throwing four touchdown passes while completing 26 of 33 attempts for 338 yards. Three of those scoring strikes went to Oran Singleton Jr., who turned in the best performance of his career.

Singleton finished with career highs of 13 receptions, 177 receiving yards and three touchdowns, consistently creating problems for the Tulane secondary.

Tulsa (5-4, 2-3 American Conference) entered the contest having dropped four of its previous five games. However, the Golden Hurricane found their rhythm early and controlled the matchup on both sides of the football.

The Golden Hurricane also established a strong presence on the ground, accumulating 224 rushing yards. No individual Tulsa running back surpassed 52 yards, highlighting the team’s balanced rushing attack.

Tulsa finished with a commanding 562-201 advantage in total offense, leaving little doubt about its control of the game.

After taking a 7-0 lead through the opening quarter, Tulsa exploded for 25 points in the second period to carry a 32-0 advantage into halftime. The Golden Hurricane continued their offensive assault after the break, extending the margin to 46-0 before Tulane finally reached the scoreboard.

Cooper Helmke provided Tulane’s first points with a 38-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. The Green Wave’s only touchdown came with two seconds remaining when Dagan Bruno connected with Bredell Richardson on a four-yard scoring pass.

Tulane (4-5, 2-3) entered Saturday’s matchup with a 3-1 home record but had no answer for Tulsa’s offensive firepower.

Despite its overall record, Tulsa has been competitive in conference play. Its three American Conference defeats have come by a combined 12 points, including a one-point overtime loss to North Texas and a three-point setback against Army.

Saturday’s convincing victory gives the Golden Hurricane an important boost as they look to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
