WESTFIELD, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts continued training camp on Saturday with another spirited practice at Grand Park Sports Campus, as players competed for roster spots and increased roles with the preseason rapidly approaching.

Every practice has taken on added significance for Indianapolis as the organization enters a pivotal 2026 season. General Manager Chris Ballard and the coaching staff continue to evaluate the roster while players battle to make their mark before preseason action begins.

One of the biggest standouts of the day was quarterback Daniel Jones, who turned in one of his strongest performances of camp. Jones completed 12 of 15 passes with three touchdowns during 11-on-11 team drills, consistently delivering accurate throws and efficiently moving the offense down the field.

Wide receiver Josh Downs emerged as Jones’ favorite target throughout the afternoon. Downs showcased crisp route-running, created separation consistently, and made several key receptions as the duo displayed excellent chemistry during team periods.

Defensively, the Colts secondary continued to impress. Cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and Justin Walley put together another outstanding practice, breaking up passes and providing tight coverage throughout one-on-one and team drills. The defensive backs have been among the team’s most consistent position groups through the opening days of camp, giving the Colts confidence in their depth at cornerback.

Along the defensive front, Colby Wooden made one of the day’s biggest plays when he penetrated the backfield to stop running back DJ Giddens for a loss. Wooden has continued to flash throughout camp and appears poised to take on a significant role along Indianapolis’ defensive line this season.

Perhaps the most exciting moment of practice came from rookie quarterback Riley Leonard, who connected with veteran receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on a deep pass that covered nearly 50 yards. The perfectly placed throw drew excitement from teammates and fans alike, highlighting Leonard’s arm strength and ability to stretch the field.

With each passing practice, competition for roster spots continues to intensify. Players are making the most of every opportunity as the coaching staff evaluates performances heading into the preseason schedule.

As training camp progresses, consistency, execution, and versatility will remain critical for those hoping to secure a place on the 53-man roster. For the Colts, every snap now carries additional importance as preparations continue for what the organization hopes will be a successful 2026 campaign.
