Phoenix, AZ — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a dominant performance Saturday night, pouring in 42 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 121-109 win over the Phoenix Suns and a commanding 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

The reigning MVP was nearly unstoppable, knocking down 15 of his 18 shots while creating offense from all areas of the floor. His efficiency and shot-making proved too much for Phoenix, even as the Suns showed stretches of solid defensive effort.

With Jalen Williams sidelined due to injury, Ajay Mitchell stepped into the starting lineup and contributed 15 points. Alex Caruso chipped in 13 off the bench, while Chet Holmgren added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks to round out a balanced effort.

Oklahoma City pulled away for good in the fourth quarter. A tough, fading jumper from Gilgeous-Alexander pushed the lead to 15 with about five minutes remaining, silencing the home crowd and effectively sealing the outcome.

For Phoenix, Dillon Brooks led the way with 33 points, while Jalen Green added 26.

The Suns had a brief scare in the third quarter when Devin Booker went down with a left ankle injury. He left the floor in visible discomfort but returned shortly after to a loud ovation, knocking down a jumper and a three-pointer to spark a short-lived rally. He finished with 16 points and seven assists.

Phoenix started strong, building an early nine-point lead, but Oklahoma City responded quickly with a barrage of three-pointers to take control. The Thunder carried that momentum into halftime and gradually extended their advantage in the second half.

Despite missing key contributors, including Mark Williams and Jordan Goodwin, the Suns remained competitive but couldn’t overcome Oklahoma City’s offensive efficiency.

Now firmly in control of the series, the Thunder will look to complete a sweep in Game 4 on Monday in Phoenix.
